bei dem tiergarten
i spent thursday with my grandfather. we decided the zoo would be the best place for a stroll.. as 70,000 soccor fans came to nürnberg that day to watch the england game. (incidently 10,000 hooligans stayed on the isle, as their passports are revoked until the end of the worldcup) this is one of the most memorable zoo visits.. not so much for the location, which was beautiful.. but for the company and conversation... as my grandfather and i can now speak the same language. below are a few of the animals we saw.

in german, called a seahund.. or sea dog. the day was 31 degrees cenigrad.. a bit hot for these north americans!

Me, I'm just a softee. Not just for the animals but for the closeness of you & your Grandfather. My Grandparents immigrated to US from Naples so
Italian was always spoken in our home.
