a memorable day. we travel to a lake outside of Möherndorf. lakes like this are refuges to city dwellers on a hot day who often have no back yard. we are fortunate to have a stunning garten.. and make our jouney to test the raft. when it is warm in germany, i am told, one has to go swimming, as it doesn't seem to happen so often.

rested for a bit.. and realized that some ladybugs were doing it on my foot!

removing them from foot without disturbing the process proved challenging, but here they are, free.

i painted this picture for doris, in thanks for their hospitality.. it's inspired by a bird called star. it lives in Möherdorf only in the spring. it is black while in the shade, and its colors shine in light.
