a day in budapest
our first stop was an internet cafe. this was the first and last one we visited on the trip.. i love how stark this location is.
in the afternoon we joined the ship's bus tour. as a family we're not exactly group travelers, so i'm choosing to remember riding for 4 hours in a crowded bus during rush hour as a character building experience. though it was the best way to see the "sights" in the short amount of time we had in the town.
the tower of st mathais' cathedral. we visited, i was shawled, and upon our exit i noticed a "no more tourists" sign. this church is sacred enough to pause the flow of paying visitors.
the castle wall as seen from the edge of st mathais's square.
the square itself. paying visitors could even have their picture taken by a falcon.
this stick man greets visits as they walk towards hungary's statue of liberty.. built commemorate the exit of the germans after wwii.
the city as seen from this hilltop
here she is as seen from behind
